synopsis

antónio runs away from home and tries to spend the night at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. there he finds a brazilian girl, an unexpected guest. johnny is struggling to stage his first theatre play in lisbon. his friendship with the young light technician will make him face his real problems. débora is passing by, finally returning home. when she goes to the theatre, she falls asleep, and is awaken by the protagonist. three dimensions of the same story.

process

for this film, i composed a soundtrack that is one long song featuring a range of moods and styles to enhance the emotional impact of the story. the track starts dreamy and atmospheric, using ethereal sounds to create a sense of otherworldliness. it then transitions to clubby and energetic, utilizing upbeat rhythms and driving percussion to heighten the excitement of the film.

one of the unique aspects of the soundtrack is the way it plays with the diegetic and non-diegetic categories. at times, the music is part of the scene itself, blending with the sound effects and dialogue. other times, it exists outside of the film's world, creating an emotional layer for the film's audience.
